Hello, friends! Are you ending your summer with a really great book? I'd love to hear about it. We are heading back to school, and the reading has been light for me!

One Piece, Volume 10: OK, Let's Stand Up! by Eiichiro Oda Wild Spaces by S.L. Coney Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare

One Piece, Volume 10: OK, Let's Stand Up! by Eiichiro Oda ⭐⭐⭐★★ - Hopefully I can get caught up through Volume 12 before watching the new Netflix series at the end of the month!

Wild Spaces by S.L. Coney ⭐⭐⭐⭐★ - I loved this. Hopefully I will have a review out in the next couple of days so keep an eye out for that.

Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare ⭐★★★★ - Oof! I may review this one, too. I read this with my 14 year old since he was assigned this as part of his summer homework for his honors English class. His teacher strongly recommends they read the No Fear Shakespeare edition. I clearly didn't understand half of this book when I read it high school. I really, really wish I still didn't understand.

Currently Reading

Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card Looking Glass Sound by Catriona Ward Belladonna by Adalyn Grace

Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card - My son was also assigned Ender's Game. We are loving this one.

Looking Glass Sound by Catriona Ward - I'm almost done with Looking Glass Sound - I simply haven't had time due to reading summer assignments with my son. It's so good, and I'm excited to see how it ends!

Belladonna by Adalyn Grace - This poor book is waiting for me to get back to it!

Added to the TBR

The Narrow by Kate Alice Marshall

The Narrow by Kate Alice Marshall - Kate Alice Marshall is an autobuy for me. I have no idea what this about, but I'm pretty sure it's another young adult.

  1. I read R&J when I was a freshman, and it was my favorite of all Shakespeare's plays. I was obsessed with the Romeo + Juliet movie too. That's great that you read the books with your son. I didn't do that with my daughter.

    1. I would recommend NOT reading the No Fear Shakespeare edition.

  2. I'm glad you loved Wild Spaces. It didn't quite work for me, although the writing is lovely. And Looking Glass Sound was very twisty!

  3. Hollow Places is one I've been interested in. And Belladonna has such a great cover.

    1. Belladonna is one of the most beautiful books that I own. It's gorgeous under the dust jacket, too.

  5. I'm reading an ARC of Warriors Hope by Rebecca Zanetti and I'm loving it so far. I love this series so I was looking forward to this.

I haven't read any of the books you mentioned.

  6. I look forward to hearing your thoughts about Wild Spaces.

I hope to read a Shakespearean play before the end of the year. The No Fear books seem to help me get through the plays much more easily.

  9. I enjoyed The Narrow, though with some reservations (that don't have anything to do with the supernatural/horror aspect). I loved her Rules for Vanishing a lot more.

Good luck with your back-to-school situation! 😉
