Happy weekend! Can I just say how much I appreciate each of you? Thank you for everything.
I have recently discovered Land O' Lakes Cinnamon Cocoa, and I think you need it in your life, too.
Do you have a favorite go to cocoa? Marshmallows or no?

Book Review | Beneath the Sugar Sky by Seanan McGuire ⭐⭐⭐⭐★
Most Anticipated Debut Novels of 2023 - I was dumb and didn't look ahead at the Top Ten Tuesday topics. The topic this Tuesday is 2023 debuts so now I'm going to have to get creative. Again! If you need any debuts for your list, be sure to check out my post! I'm excited for all of these.
Finished Reading
Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians by Brandon Sanderson ⭐⭐⭐⭐★
The Time Machine by H.G. Wells ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
These were both rereads but I'll probably still post some thoughts soon!
Currently Reading
Shards of Earth by Adrian Tchaikovsky - I'm still enjoying this. I don't think this will appeal to everyone who loved Children of Time, but there's some occasional creepy space deprivation that has me glued for more.
The Unknown by Algernon Blackwood - I've only read the introduction by Henry Bartholomew so far, but I loved it. I'm excited to read these fiction and non-fiction pieces from Algernon Blackwood.
Added to the TBR
The Echo Wife by Sarah Gailey - I can't wait to make time for this one! After loving Just Like Home, I need to read more Gailey.
Children of Memory by Adrian Tchaikovsky - My preorder arrived! I still need to read Children of Ruin, but I do believe this is going to be the year of Tchaikovsky for me.
Currently Watching
Are you watching The Last of Us? Please tell me your watching. It's incredible. There are so many of my favorite tropes here, and my emotions you guys... I think I've died a couple of times already watching this show.
This post is being shared as part of The Sunday Salon at Readerbuzz, Book Date’s It's Monday! What Are You Reading? and Caffeinated Book Reviewer's The Sunday Post.
I just watched the first episode of The Last of Us and it's so intense and good! I can't wait to catch up😁
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long while since I read The Time Machine. Your high rating has me thinking it has held up well. I had a manager who would always give us flavored cocoa during the holidays, and it was that brand. They were all pretty delicious.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried any cocoa since I was a little kid, but Land O' Lakes Cinnamon Cocoa sounds fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI think I need to give Last of Us a try. But it may be unbearably sad.
I've never read The Time Machine. Glad to hear it is so good.
I think I am the only person on the face of the earth who is bored to tears by The Last of Us, yet I'm determined to keep watching it. I feel a desperate need to be part of the Last of Us community and I don't know why. LOL
ReplyDeleteI love cinnamon! I love chocolate!! I do not like cinnamon and chocolate together.
I do like the other Land o Lakes cocoas and I prefer whipped cream over marshmallows. :-)
I was a little bored in the first one. I thought it picked up though in the second especially when they were traversing the ruined city. My issue too sometimes is the longer run times- I really like that 45 minutes give or take run time, sometimes shows with hour long episodes lag a bit, at least for me.
DeleteMcGuire and The Scourge Between Stars are both on my list. And oh my gosh the Echo Wife. I can't WAIT to see what you think. I thought it was a trip.
ReplyDeleteI've never read Time Machine but the 50's (I think) movie version was oddly eerie, I thought, especially when he gets to the far future or whatever.
The LAst of Us is good so far!
That cinnamon cocoa sounds so yummy! And The Last of Us is one I do want to watch. Have a good week. :D
ReplyDeleteI can't add anymore tv ideas as I can't even get to the ones I really want to watch. I think I'd like it though. I only like cocoa when I am outside skiing for 6-12 hours burning up calories. I just started The Writing Retreat and still excited to read it.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
I have Echo Wife on my TBR but not sure if I'll get to it this year. And I'll definitely check out your debut novels list since I don't really have many yet. And I'll be watching to see what list you come up with instead. :)

I need to try Tchaikovsky!
ReplyDeleteI recently read another awesome book by HG Wells: The First Men In The Moon (yes, IN the Moon, not on). A hilarious spin on Jules Verne's book.
Thoughts on it in this post: https://wordsandpeace.com/2022/07/24/sunday-post-63-7-24-2022/
OMG! I love cinnamon cocoa! It's my favorite. I don't think I've tried Land O' Lakes, though. I'll have to look for it.
ReplyDeleteLook like some good books you got there.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
