In case you missed them, I posted my reviews of Wool by Hugh Howey and Earthly Things by Julian Vaughn.
The only book I finished last week was Nick Cutter's The Deep, but it was a good one. If you love horror, this book has some horrible stuff in it. I may actually have to read it again before writing my review.
It took me quite a while of perusing my bookshelves, my kindle, and goodreads before deciding on the perfect change of pace. I'm now reading Agatha Christie's first Miss Marple book Murder at the Vicarage.
I have no idea what I'm planning to read next.
Is it getting cold where you are? We are actually having a little bit of a cool spell here. It's kind of nice! I'm not ready for winter, but I really do love the fall.

I read the Wool series and have Sand on my kindle yet unread. I also enjoyed Howey's writing. It dragged a bit long towards the end, but overall was very entertaining.

DeleteI had a bit of a horror binge last week and read both Pines and Wayward from Blake Crouch's trilogy, so The Last Town is up this week. I also finished Seanan McGuire's Sparrow Hill Road and Doug Clegg's novella Dinner With the Cannibal Sisters. Lining up some more horror for this upcoming weekend. Trying to keep up the pace! (I never can quench the horror craving - looking forward to THE DEEP!)

I'm posting a review of the Clegg for Friday. Sophie Hannah (I misspelled her name) has a great psychological thriller series but has now taken on Poirot in penning a new Christie mystery, THE MONOGRAM MURDERS.

DeleteI missed out on all of the Agatha Christies! I have so many good books to read. I'll probably grab one every time I feel a reading slump coming on. :)

It's getting cold here at nights but the days are still upper 80's/low 90's which is too hot for September as far as I'm concerned. :) I'm not ready for Winter either but I love the Fall... even though it only seems to last a few short weeks here before jumping right into Winter.
My 5 year wound up coming down with it over the weekend. He's been sick all week! Aw, your poor guy. Twice already!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure you'll love it if you didn't like The Troop. It seemed to have a lot of what folks complained about the first time around. I dug it, though. :)
Murder at the Vicarage was fun. I will keep reading more Miss Marple books.
