Last week was not made for reading. We are going to be moving soon so I spent most of the week/weekend packing and hauling stuff into our PODS unit. My kids were at grandmas over the weekend so the only downtime I would have normally spent reading I spent watching TV. I do not get to watch much (good) TV with three kids in the house.
Last week posted my review for Greg Gifune's House of Rain. I also posted about the banned books I read with my kids.
I started reading The Witch of Blackbird Pond, but I didn't finish reading it before Doctor Sleep arrived. I had to start Doctor Sleep immediately and so far it's even better than I was expecting.
Did you read anything special for banned books week? I'd love to hear what you are reading this week. Let me know in the comments or leave me a link!
This post is being shared as part of Book Journey's It's Monday! What Are You Reading?
I've got Doctor Sleep too, but I'm still working on finishing The Shinint before starting it. SO excited to get to it.

I would love to read The Witch of Blackbird Pond again! I haven't touched it since high school, but remember loving it at the time.

As the reviews trickle in on Doctor Sleep, and I am really only skimming them as I want to be surprised when I get it, it seems King has hit another one out of the park. I'm so happy about that. I am hoping this one is not too gory or pure horror-- I love his way around a psychological suspense thriller with just a dash of horror in it :) Have a good week. I didn't read The Witch of Blackbird Pond, but I managed the children/YA section of a major book retailer once and that was a popular one. Enjoy reading!
ReplyDeleteI didn't read anything banned last week, sorry to say. Didn't plan for that very well I guess. House of Rain sounds good might be a good book to read in October. :)
ReplyDeleteI read The Witch of Blackbird Pond again for a class a few months ago. I last read it in high school. Such a good one. I really should read some Stephen King this October! Perfect.
ReplyDeleteI am reading DOCTOR SLEEP as well. Unfortunately I didn't get to it early enough this weekend so I'll have to stop to do some review stuff :( It's excellent so far though - I wish I could have played hooky with it today!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to hear that Doctor Sleep is good thus far.
